The All Progressives Congress (APC) is set to kick off its campaigns for the October 5 Local Government elections in Akwa Ibom state with a high-profile event on Tuesday.
The occasion will feature prominent party leaders, including Vice President Kashim Shettima, APC National Chairman Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, and Senate President Godswill Akpabio, who will serve as the chief host.
According to Obong Stephen Ntukekpo, the State Chairman of the party, the event will take place at the Ikot Ekpene Township Stadium and will be attended by other dignitaries such as Cross River state governor Bassey Otu, Ekperikpe Ekpo, Minister of State, Petroleum Resources (Gas), and Sen Ita Enang, Chairman of the APC LG Election Campaigns. Ntukekpo emphasized the significance of the APC’s transformational movement and urged all party members, supporters, and the general public to join the campaigns.
“The success story of APC APC-led administration (federal) is a clear indication that the party is a transformational movement. Akwa Ibom must not and should never ever be left out of this transformational movement” -Obong Stephen Ntukekpo said.
Sen Enang highlighted the importance of the campaign flag-off, stating that it marks a significant milestone in the history of opposition politics in the state, particularly in Local Government elections.
“The APC campaign flag-off will mark a significant milestone in the history of opposition politics in the state with specific reference to Local Government elections.
It is a bold statement to other contending parties that APC is prepared and ready for the contest. We intend by this exercise to announce the presence of our great party and to reach out to millions of our supporters and the Akwa Ibom electorate with the message of change.” -Sen Ita Enang said.
