President Bola Tinubu has appointed as the Director of Energy Security in the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA).
The Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) issued a statement on Tuesday announcing the confirmation of Ojukaye Amachree’s appointment as Director of Energy Security.
Zakari Mijinyawa, Head of Strategic Communication at ONSA, officially confirmed the appointment through a statement released on Tuesday.
The statement highlighted that this significant appointment underscores the federal government’s unwavering commitment to addressing the nation’s energy challenges and bolstering energy security.
The Energy Security Directorate, a newly established unit within ONSA, will serve as the central hub for coordinating policies, protecting critical infrastructure, managing data, providing security coordination, offering risk advisory services, and forging strategic alliances within Nigeria’s energy sector.
This comprehensive approach will facilitate collaboration among government ministries, security agencies, energy sector regulators, international partners, and community leaders.
As Director of Energy Security, Amachree will play a pivotal role in implementing innovative solutions to Nigeria’s energy challenges.
His expertise will be instrumental in developing and implementing policies to enhance energy security, safeguarding critical energy infrastructure, analyzing and managing energy-related data, and providing expert advice on energy-related risks.
Amachree holds degrees in Management and is an alumnus of the prestigious Lagos Business School.
With over 20 years of experience in business, politics, and energy sector engagement, particularly in the Niger Delta, Amachree possesses a deep understanding of the complex dynamics influencing Nigeria’s energy landscape.
