The Kano State Government has announced that Monday, September 23, 2024, will be a public holiday to commemorate the 7th day of Eid-ul-Maulud, honoring the birth of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).
This declaration is in line with the federal government’s earlier announcement of a public holiday on Monday, September 16, 2024, to mark the celebration of Eid-ul-Mawlid.
Governor Yusuf is urging the Muslim community to reflect deeply on the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him), emphasizing that his life serves as a timeless guide for promoting peace, justice, humility, and compassion.
The Governor stressed that the Prophet’s teachings are a beacon of mercy and righteousness that should be integrated into everyday life.
To address current moral and social challenges, Governor Yusuf encouraged Muslims to adhere to the Quran and Sunnah, reflecting the moral character of Prophet Muhammad. He highlighted the Prophet’s life as a model of integrity, honesty, and service to humanity.
The announcement was made through a statement signed by Kano State Commissioner of Information and Internal Affairs, Baba Halilu Dantiye, and was made available to the press in Kano on Friday.
