Deji Adeyanju, a prominent rights activist and Convener of Concerned Nigerians, has voiced concerns about the government’s potential response to the upcoming October 1 protests.
In a recent interview, Adeyanju warned that the government may resort to violence against protesters, given its past actions during the #EndBadGovernance protests.
Despite this, Adeyanju remains resolute, urging Nigerians not to be deterred by the threat of violence and to continue demanding change.
The October 1 protests are slated to take place at Eagle Square, and organizers have informed the police of their plans.
However, the government’s track record of handling protests has raised concerns about the safety of participants. Adeyanju’s warnings are particularly pertinent, considering the recent events surrounding the #EndBadGovernance protests.
Adeyanju emphasized the importance of persistence in the face of corruption, encouraging Nigerians to remain steadfast in their demands for change.
