Kylian Mbappé’s recent trip to Sweden has introduced a sea of problems as Stockholm police launched an investigation into an alleged rape at his hotel last week.
Mbappé swiftly denied the allegations, labeling them “Fake News” on social media and hinting at a smear campaign by PSG and French media.
“It’s becoming so predictable, just before the hearing as if by chance,” Mbappé wrote, insinuating PSG’s involvement in spreading the allegations to tarnish his image ahead of a hearing regarding a €55 million payment dispute.
PSG responded, expressing disappointment and commitment to maintaining their dignity. “It’s a shame. We will maintain our class and our dignity,” the club stated.
This current exchange may likely increase tensions between Mbappé and PSG, particularly with the hearing before the Appeals Tribunal of the Professional Football League looming.
The French League previously ruled in Mbappé’s favor, ordering PSG to pay the disputed amount.
However, the final verdict remains pending. Mbappé’s entourage has condemned the allegations as “slanderous” and “completely false”, vowing to take legal action against media outlets spreading the allegations.
The investigation follows a complaint filed by a woman alleging rape at the Swedish hotel where Mbappé stayed with friends.
Mbappé’s representatives have denied any wrongdoing, emphasizing their willingness to cooperate with authorities.
