An incident occurred in Bosnia on Thursday when a 14-year-old broke into a police station in Bosanska Krupa, 186 miles northwest of Sarajevo, and stabbed two officers, killing one and leaving the other critically injured.
According to Ramo Isak, Interior Minister for the Bosniak-Croat Federation, the attack resulted in one officer’s death and another’s hospitalization with life-threatening injuries. Police spokesman Adnan Beganovic confirmed the wounded officer’s condition to national broadcaster BHRT.
The young attacker, born in 2009, was apprehended, and prosecutors have initiated an investigation. However, the motives behind the attack remain unclear.
Regional Police Chief Adnan Habibija expressed concern: “This is very sad. What surprised us is that it concerns a minor aged 14 who dared attack officers in a police station. It’s an alarm bell for our society.”
Armin Halitovic, Mayor of Bosanska Krupa, emphasized: “We are a peaceful and tolerant town,” highlighting the devastating impact of the incident on the community of 11,000 residents.
Security measures have been heightened following the attack.
