Nigeria is set to hold a national prayer session, led by First Lady Oluremi Tinubu and National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, in response to the country’s numerous challenges.
The event, organized in collaboration with Christian and Muslim leaders, seeks divine intervention for Nigeria’s healing process.
Chief Segun Balogun Afolorunikan, Director General of the National Prayer Forum, announced the initiative during a press briefing in Abuja, stating that the event’s theme is “Seeking the Intervention of God in Nigeria’s Affairs”.
According to Afolorunikan,
“By the end of this prayer session, we believe that with God’s wisdom, our leaders and citizens will find the strength to confront our common enemies.”
The prayer sessions will involve Muslims gathering at the National Mosque in Abuja for seven days, where 313 individuals will recite the Qur’an 2,191 times for national stability.
Similarly, Christians will meet at the National Ecumenical Centre for a week of intense prayer, with prayer warriors from various denominations focusing on the nation’s adversities.
Afolorunikan noted that extensive outreach has been conducted, including meetings with leaders from the National Mosque, the President of the Christian Association of Nigeria, and traditional leaders such as the Sultan of Sokoto.
