Kim Kardashian Opens up About Her Life as a Single Mother

Kim Kardashian has recently opened up about her life as a single mother, revealing the challenges she faces while raising her four children.

Speaking candidly on the Nov. 12 episode of Zoe Winkler’s “What in the Winkler?” podcast, Kim shared that, despite her strong support system, she often feels like she’s “raising four kids by myself,” even though she co-parents with her ex-husband, Ye (formerly Kanye West).

Kim, who has four children—North (11), Saint (8), Chicago (6), and Psalm (5)—described the experience of single motherhood as overwhelming, especially since she and Ye had their children before their divorce in November 2022. While many may assume that Kim’s wealth and resources ease her parenting journey, she explained that the reality is far more challenging.

“I don’t talk about this much because people assume I have all the help I could ever need,” Kim confessed. “But no matter how much help I have, when they’re all sleeping in your bed, kicking you, crying, and waking you up at all hours, it’s still a lot. It’s still like I’m doing this on my own.”

She acknowledged that people often judge her situation, thinking that she has nannies and staff to assist her, but she stressed that the responsibility of raising four kids ultimately falls on her.

Kim also spoke about the chaotic mornings she faces, especially when trying to get her kids ready for school. “This morning, I had five kids in total to take to school,” she explained. “Two kids came over, and everyone wanted to leave at different times and had different things they needed. It feels like I’m at a pitstop at a race track—‘Brush your teeth, brush your teeth, brush your teeth, brush your teeth, OK, get dressed, do your hair.’”

Despite the hectic start to her day, Kim said that one of the most important rituals in her life is driving her children to school every morning. “That’s really important to me,” she shared. “No matter how busy my work schedule is, I make it a priority to take them to school. It’s my bonding time with them, and it’s non-negotiable. Sure, it’s madness, but it’s what I cherish the most.”
