Gunmen have abducted Hon. Alaba Moses, a councillor representing Odo-Ape Ward in the Kabba-Bunu Local Government Legislative Council, along with eight others. The kidnappings occurred in the early hours of the morning around 1 a.m.
An eyewitness spoke to the Nigerian Tribune under the condition of anonymity.
“The entire village is living in dread,” the source recounted. “We don’t know who could be next. Just days ago, an 18-passenger bus was ambushed in the area, and every single passenger was kidnapped.”
Five individuals of Gwari ethnicity, two Bassa natives, and a man identified as Silas from Agbadu-Bunu were taken alongside Hon. Moses.
The eyewitness revealed that two brothers were abducted from their farmland in Aluju, Kakun, and another two individuals from Odo-Ape have remained in captivity for over nine days.
“These incidents have left everyone deeply shaken,” the eyewitness added. “We call on security agencies and the state government to act swiftly to protect lives and property and secure the release of those who have been abducted.”
