Police Rescue Three Kidnap Victims in Taraba

The Taraba State Police Command successfully rescued three kidnapped individuals after a gunfight in Sibre village, Ardo-Kola Local Government Area.

The rescue operation occurred on Saturday, December 7, 2024, and was disclosed by the command’s spokesperson, Abdullahi Usman, in a statement issued the following day.

The operation was initiated after a distress call alerted authorities to the abduction.

A team of operatives from the Jalingo Area Command, in collaboration with local vigilantes, pursued the kidnappers. The confrontation occurred at Dutse Mubayu near the rugged Kona Mountains, where the suspects engaged the security forces in a gun battle.

“Overpowered by the superior firepower of the police and vigilantes, the kidnappers abandoned their victims and fled,” Usman revealed.
