Gal Gadot Opens Up About her Brain Surgery During her Pregnancy

Gal Gadot, the talented actress known for her iconic role as Wonder Woman, shared a personal and terrifying experience that left her and her family shaken in a recent heartfelt post on Instagram.
After welcoming her fourth child, Gadot underwent surgery to repair a blood clot in her brain, a condition known as cerebral venous thrombosis (CVT).
Gadot’s journey began when she was in her eighth month of pregnancy. She started experiencing excruciating headaches that confined her to bed for weeks. Despite the discomfort, she initially attributed the pain to the usual pregnancy symptoms. However, as the headaches persisted, she underwent an MRI.
“I finally underwent an MRI that revealed the terrifying truth,” Gadot wrote on Instagram. “In one moment, my family and I were faced with how fragile life can be.”
The situation was critical, and Gadot required immediate medical attention. She and her family rushed to the hospital, where she underwent emergency surgery.
Gadot’s fourth child, Ori, was born during this uncertain and frightening time.
Gadot explained the significance of her daughter’s name, saying, “Her name, meaning ‘my light,’ wasn’t chosen by chance.
Before the surgery, I told Jaron that when our daughter arrived, she would be the light waiting for me at the end of this tunnel.”
Gadot expressed her deepest gratitude to her exceptional medical team at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles for their dedicated care. She spent weeks recovering and eventually made a full recovery.
“I made it through and began the road to recovery,” Gadot shared. “Today, I am fully healed and filled with gratitude for the life I’ve been given back.”
This life-altering experience taught Gadot valuable lessons that she hopes to share with others. She emphasized the importance of listening to one’s body and trusting its signals. Gadot also stressed the significance of awareness, particularly regarding CVT, a condition that affects three in 100,000 pregnant women over 30.
“Second, awareness matters,” Gadot said. “I had no idea that three in 100K pregnant women in the 30+ age group are diagnosed with CVT. It’s so important to identify early because it’s treatable. While rare, it’s a possibility.”
Gadot and her husband, Jaron Versano, are proud parents of four beautiful daughters: Alma, 13; Maya, 7; Daniella, 3; and Ori, 9 months.
Gadot wrote that she aims to raise awareness about CVT and encourage others to prioritize their health and well-being.
