Troops of the Nigerian Army have successfully dismantled several hideouts, including those belonging to notorious bandits’ kingpins, Bello Turji, and Mallam Ila.
This operation, which took place on January 10, 2025, in the Fakai area of Shinkafi Local Government Area, resulted in the neutralization of over 25 terrorists and the escape of 7 kidnapped victims.
According to Lieutenant Colonel Abubakar Abdullahi, Coordinator Joint Media Coordination Centre, Operation Fansan Yamma, the troops, supported by the Air Component Operation Fansan Yamma, launched an offensive operation that cleared several terrorist camps in the Fakai axis.
Lieutenant Colonel Abdullahi stated, “Troops of Sector 2 of the Joint Task Force North West Operation Fansan Yamma successfully dismantled terrorist hideouts… and cleared some terrorists’ camps in the Fakai axis.”
He further emphasized that “Operation Fansan Yamma will continue to pursue and neutralise all terrorist elements within its joint operation area.”
The military has issued a stern warning to all terrorist kingpins and their associates, urging them to surrender and renounce violence unconditionally. In a statement, they assured the public of their dedication to restoring peace and security in the affected communities, saying, “We assure the public of our dedication to restoring peace and security in the affected communities.”
