A handwritten note has been discovered by detectives, revealing a Kenyan man’s premeditated plan to murder his estranged wife. The note, found at the crime scene, outlined the necessary items, attack strategy, and intended cover-up for the heinous act.
According to reports, Juma Hannis Shimano allegedly stabbed his estranged wife, Winnie Akhalusa, to death in the kitchen of her parents’ home in Nandi County.
Following the brutal attack, Shimano took rat poison and slit his own throat.
Investigations revealed that the couple had separated just a week prior to the incident. Shimano had traveled from Nairobi to Winnie’s parents’ house, where he carried out the gruesome murder.
In the days leading up to the incident, Shimano had posted an unsettling update on Facebook, showcasing a photo of himself and his wife.
The post read: “Stop asking me about my wife. Here she is; I have revealed her and am not scared of losing her. Respect the OGs.”
Witnesses and investigators suggest that tensions between the couple had been escalating for some time, although the exact cause of the argument remains unclear.
According to Winnie’s father, he was enjoying time with his grandchildren when his wife alerted him to a problem in the kitchen.
Upon entering the kitchen, the 32-year-old man found Shimano, who had stabbed Winnie in the neck and back. Blood was oozing from her body as Shimano threw the children’s birth certificate at Winnie’s father, who attempted to fight him off.
In her final moments, Winnie cried out to her father, “Daddy, my husband has killed me,” before succumbing to her injuries.
