Everton’s Manager Frank Lampard was at a press briefing and was asked what the mood was like after their defeat from Southampton which ended 2-1 scored by James Ward-Prowse and Everton’s Amadou Onana.
“The players don’t want to be in this position, I think the reality is that we are here and there were a lot of reasons for that but the players don’t want to be here so they should have a human reaction after the games and I had things to say because from my point of view in the position we are in the first thing we have to do is fight and be ready for the fight. So if the players in the dressing room are disappointed that we lost then that is good, and if they want to fight and be a good teammate and not think about themselves and try to get the result next week with great intensity then that is all I want and I think after a game with Southampton I think that reality becomes more clear.“
Everton’s next fixture will be against West Ham tomorrow at the Premier League and are currently 19th on the table.
