Yorkshire Cricket Club has admitted to four amended charges as regard racism to Azeem Rafiq, it is an ongoing investigation and will have its disciplinary hearing next month.
The Co-chairs of Yorkshire Cricket Club, Kamlesh Patel and Tanmi Grey-Thompson put out a statement concerning the accusations.
“Today’s announcement is an important step forward for Yorkshire County Cricket Club as part of its journey to learn from the past. Since becoming Chair it has been clear that we needed to accept and take accountability as a Club for the cultural issues which allowed racist and discriminatory behavior to go unchallenged. We should be proud of the work that has been done to build new foundations for a club whose ambition is to become truly welcome to all.”
Azeem Rafiq posted in his twitter in his own words;
‘I want to thank both Yorkshire and Gary for doing the right thing and wish them all the best for the future.”
