Former Anambra State governor, Peter Obi, has urged the government to exercise extreme caution in handling the situation surrounding the police summons issued to Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) President, Joe Ajaero.
Obi expressed deep concern over the matter, highlighting the sensitivity of Ajaero’s position as the leader of the nation’s workforce.
He emphasized the importance of due process, stating that the anxiety generated by the police invitation should not be unexpected.
Ajaero’s summons on August 19, over allegations including terrorism financing and cybercrime, has sparked widespread tension.
Obi cautioned against autocratic methods, warning that such approaches could further polarize relations with the labour force.
