The Lagos State Government has entered into a partnership with China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC) for the construction of the Lekki-Epe Link Bridge, as announced by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
The Governor, who is currently attending the China-Africa Cooperation Summit, shared the news on his official social media account.
This project is a key component of the state’s comprehensive transport masterplan, aimed at upgrading road infrastructure, reducing traffic congestion, increasing commuting efficiency, and driving economic development in the Lekki-Epe axis of Lagos State.
Governor Sanwo-Olu also revealed that talks are ongoing to finalize the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contract with CCECC, marking a substantial step forward in the project’s execution.
Additionally, he noted that the feasibility and design studies for the Lekki-Epe Link Bridge have already been completed, demonstrating considerable progress in the project’s preparation.
Notably, the EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) model, which is being explored for the Lekki-Epe Link Bridge project, places the responsibility on the contractor to oversee all aspects of the project, including design, procurement, and construction.
This approach ensures that the bridge is completed on schedule and is fully operational upon delivery, providing a seamless and efficient infrastructure for Lagosians.
