Former Super Eagles coach Finidi George has disclosed that Victor Osimhen has yet to apologize for his viral social media rant that disrespected him.
Finidi, now the coach of Rivers United, revealed that he reached out to Osimhen to resolve the issue, but the forward has not responded.
The controversy began when Osimhen lashed out at Finidi on social media after a report claimed that Finidi questioned Osimhen’s commitment to the team due to his absence from World Cup qualifiers against South Africa and Benin Republic.
Osimhen’s reaction was deemed disrespectful, prompting calls for an apology.
Finidi stated, “I sent him a message that it wasn’t the best way, just someone telling you that coach said that and you’re talking about me like I said it in an interview.”
However, Finidi has not received a response from Osimhen, leading him to move on and wish everyone well.
When asked about the possibility of Osimhen facing a ban from the national team, Finidi responded, “I don’t know, he is there already. Let him be.”
Despite the controversy, Osimhen recently scored for the Super Eagles in their 3-0 win over Benin Republic in the AFCON qualifiers, showcasing his talent and importance to the team.
However, the issue with Finidi remains unresolved, with no apology forthcoming from the 25-year-old forward.
