Activist and politician Aisha Yesufu has strongly criticized President Bola Tinubu, labeling him a “bad person” amidst Nigeria’s economic hardship.
Her remarks came in response to Senator Ali Ndume’s statement that Tinubu’s inner circle is responsible for the country’s economic woes.
Ndume, representing Borno South, claimed that certain individuals are driving “harmful policies” under Tinubu’s administration, prioritizing these over controlling inflation and stabilizing the exchange rate.
He expressed concerns about rising fuel, food, and essential goods prices, suggesting that these individuals aim to undermine Tinubu’s administration.
Ndume stated, “Those who are bent on making the President look bad will stop at nothing in inflicting pain on Nigerians… I believe President Tinubu means well for Nigeria and Nigerians. But some of his advisers who don’t mean well give him wrong advice.”
Yesufu countered on social media platform X, “Tinubu is the bad person. Call a spade a spade and not a garden implement.” Her blunt assessment reflects growing public dissatisfaction with the government’s handling of the economy.
