American Woman Who Got Scammed Twice by Yahoo Boys Says She Still Loves Nigerian Men

An American woman recently shared her story of falling victim to two Nigerian internet scammers, popularly called “Yahoo boys.”

Despite the emotional and financial losses, she maintained that her admiration for Nigerian men remains strong, describing them as “the sexiest and most handsome men on this planet.”

In a viral video uploaded on Sunday, November 24, the woman recounted her experiences, detailing how the scammers manipulated her emotions and finances. She revealed that the first scam began in 2020 when she met a young Nigerian man on TikTok. Initially, the relationship seemed genuine, but cracks began to appear as his constant demands for money grew excessive.

“Back in 2020, I met this man. I was with him for ten months,” she began. “I got tired of him because he was always demanding money. He always wanted more and more. One day, he made a mistake and called me using a Nigerian phone number. He tried to play it off as his friend’s number, but that was when the truth started unraveling.”

Eventually, she decided to sever ties with him, prompting him to confess his true identity and situation. “When I was finally done and didn’t want to have anything to do with him, he opened up to me. Now, he’s about to get married to his Nigerian girlfriend,” she said. Despite the betrayal, she wished him well: “May God bless them and their relationship. I hope they have a long and happy life together.”

The woman also shared a second, less painful encounter with another Nigerian man. She described him as more considerate and polite, though the outcome was still heartbreaking. “This second one was a little different. He cared more about my feelings,” she explained. However, after a year, he came clean, admitting to being a struggling young man trying to fund his education and care for his ailing mother.

“He told me the truth: he was a young Nigerian boy trying to put himself through school, and his mother was very sick. He kept thanking me, saying I had saved his mother’s life,” she recalled. While she expressed relief knowing her contributions had helped someone in need, the experience still left her emotionally drained.

“The first guy hurt me because I saw videos of him throwing money around and spending it on hook-up girls in Nigeria. The second one didn’t hurt as much because I know the money went to something meaningful.”

“I’ll bounce back one day,” she said. Despite her past experiences, she spoke warmly of Nigerian people, particularly the men. “I still have love for Nigerian people. The men are the sexiest and most handsome men on this planet.”

“I pray nothing like this ever happens to me again. Now, I know all their secrets. These experiences destroyed me financially,” she admitted. She acknowledged the struggles faced by many Nigerians but emphasized that American women also face challenges. “A lot of people in Nigeria are struggling, but you have to remember, American women are struggling too. It’s hard being a woman here without a partner and trying to survive.”
