An 8-year-old girl suffered severe injuries after being brutally assaulted by a 32-year-old man in Dutse Local Government Area of Jigawa State.
The perpetrator, Bashir Umar, allegedly raped the minor and inserted scissors and a spoon into her private parts, causing grievous harm.
After she regained consciousness, he gave her N150 and threatened to harm her and her parents if she spoke out.”
According to DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam, spokesperson for the command, the suspect also injected an unknown substance into the victim’s private area.
The PPRO revealed that the suspect would lure the girl into his room, abusing her repeatedly and threatening to harm her if she spoke out.
“From then on, the suspect would lure her into his room whenever she was on her way to school, repeating the abuse and threatening to keep it a secret.”
After experiencing health issues due to the trauma, she was taken to the hospital, where the doctor confirmed that her genital organ had been severely injured. She eventually shared her traumatic experience with the authorities.
The survivor is currently receiving treatment at Rashid Shekoni Teaching Hospital Dutse.
The suspect was arrested and transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department Dutse for further investigation.
He has since been prosecuted in court to face justice.
The police spokesperson, DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam, condemned the heinous crime and assured that the suspect is in custody, facing charges for his despicable actions.
