The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors Forum has stepped in to broker a truce among feuding members, directing them to revert to the status quo.
Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed, who also serves as the forum’s chairman, gave this instruction following a meeting that concluded in the early hours of Tuesday.
For context, “status quo” means maintaining the current state of affairs or avoiding any changes until the dispute is resolved.
By asking parties to revert to the status quo, Governor Bala Mohammed and the PDP Governors Forum are seeking to maintain calm and prevent further conflict within the party.
This isn’t the first time the PDP has faced internal conflicts. In 2023, a Federal High Court in Abuja ordered the maintenance of status quo in a suit filed by Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, over threats of expulsion from the party.
