The Governor of Benue State, Hyacinth Alia, has announced the appointment of key officials in the agricultural sector. The announcement made public through a statement by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Sir Tersoo Kula, was released on Friday in Makurdi.
Among the appointees is Mr. Donald Aorkwagh Akule, who has been entrusted with the position of Managing Director of the Benue State Agricultural Development Company (ADC).
Also named is Dr. Aondoakaa Asambe, who assumes the role of Principal Special Assistant on Livestock Development and Animal Transboundary Disease Control. Dr. Asambe’s role will be instrumental in addressing pressing challenges within the livestock sector, including disease control and improving livestock productivity.
Additionally, Mr. Abraham Agogo has been appointed as Senior Special Assistant on Community Mobilization. With a mandate to strengthen grassroots engagement, Agogo will focus on ensuring that government initiatives and policies resonate effectively within local communities, fostering inclusivity and participation in governance.
According to Sir Kula, the appointments are to take immediate effect. “Governor Alia’s choices reflect his commitment to identifying capable individuals who are dedicated to advancing the state’s development agenda,” he noted.
