Alhassan Doguwa, a House of Representatives member, has fired back at Rabiu Kwankwaso, former Kano State Governor, for criticizing the All Progressives Congress (APC) government.
Kwankwaso claimed that Nigerians, especially those in the North, would reject the APC beyond 2027 due to their dissatisfaction with the current administration.
Doguwa dismissed Kwankwaso’s statement as “mere hallucination,” stating that the APC-led government is working tirelessly to transform Nigeria for the better.
He suggested that Kwankwaso should prepare for political retirement, still reeling from his 2023 presidential defeat to President Bola Tinubu.
According to Doguwa, President Tinubu is dedicated to returning Nigeria to the path of progress and prosperity. He highlighted Tinubu’s achievements, including attracting over $30 billion in foreign direct investments, reducing the country’s debt service ratio, and combating insecurity in the North West.
Doguwa praised Tinubu’s administration for restoring peace and rebuilding the region, enabling people to return to their farms. He criticized the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) for its “non-performance” in Kano and declared the APC’s readiness to reclaim the state in the next elections.
Kwankwaso, while receiving defectors from the APC to the NNPP in Kano, said, “Nigerians are tired and cannot endure beyond 2027.”
Doguwa responded, “At a political gathering on Thursday, my colleague Kwankwaso took his hallucination to the moon when he said Nigerians are tired of the APC and will change it in 2027.”
