The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) re-arrested popular crossdresser and social media influencer, Idris Okuneye, better known as Bobrisky, at Murtala Mohammed International Airport in Lagos on Thursday evening.
Eyewitnesses revealed that Bobrisky was about to board a flight to London when Nigerian authorities intervened, halting the plane’s departure and escorting Bobrisky off in front of passengers.
Bobrisky was just recently released on bail by the Nigeria Police Authorities.
Taking to Instagram shortly after the incident, Bobrisky pleaded for help, stating, “Nigerians help me, EFCC just arrested me. I’m badly injured.”
Bobrisky has been under intense scrutiny following an audio recording where he allegedly claimed to have secured “influential connections” allowing him to serve his six-month jail term outside of Kirikiri prison.
Just last week, Bobrisky was detained by the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) at the Seme border on suspicion of attempting to flee the country.
