The palace of Ningi Emirate has announced the passing of its revered leader, Alhaji Yunusa Muhammadu Dan Yaya, the Emir of Ningi, on Sunday.
The 88-year-old first-class traditional ruler of Bauchi Emirate passed away in the morning in Kano.
According to the Palace Secretary, Usman Sule, the Emir died in a hospital just two days after returning from a medical trip to Saudi Arabia.
The Bauchi State Government has expressed deep sorrow over his demise, acknowledging his significant contributions to peace, unity, and development in both the Ningi Emirate and the state as a whole.
In a statement, Mukhtar Gidado, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to Governor Bala Mohammed, praised the late Emir’s leadership, saying:
“During his tenure, the Emirate made significant strides, and his commitment to preserving tradition, culture, and Islamic values was unshakeable.”
Governor Bala Mohammed offered his heartfelt condolences to the Emir’s family, the Ningi Emirate Council, and the people of Bauchi State, saying:
“We share in your grief and pray that Almighty Allah grants the late Emir eternal peace in Jannatul Firdaus. May Allah also provide his family, the people of Ningi, and all those affected by this loss the strength and resilience to bear it.”
The funeral rites will be held today at 4:00 pm at the Ningi Emirate Palace, in accordance with Islamic traditions.
