A fire incident occurred at the Federal Ministry of Works headquarters in Abuja on Friday.
The fire, attributed to a faulty circuit breaker on the ground floor, was swiftly contained, preventing significant damage.
According to Mohammed A. Ahmed, Director of Press and Public Relations,
“A minor fire incident occurred at 11:30 am at Block A of the Ministry.”
He explained that the incident resulted from a spark in the electrical control room on the ground floor.
Mr. Kekai Bekebi, Station Commander of the Federal Fire Service, reported a swift response from his team, utilizing fire extinguishers to control the situation. A successful evacuation exercise was also conducted.
Aliyu Abdullahi, Director of Human Resource Management, confirmed that no documents were lost, and no injuries or casualties were recorded. He commended the staff for their conduct during the incident.
Thankfully, normal activities have resumed, with maintenance staff clearing debris and restoring order.
