Founder of Mango Clothing Chain, Isak Andic is Dead

Isak Andic, the founder of the renowned fashion chain Mango, has tragically passed away in a mountain accident on December 14. According to police reports, the 71-year-old businessman suffered a fatal fall while hiking with his relatives in Monserrat caves near Barcelona.
The group began their tour early in the morning, but the outing turned disastrous when Andic slipped and plummeted about 500 ft to his death.
Andic’s wife and son alerted emergency services after witnessing his accident. However, due to the challenging terrain, rescue teams faced delays in recovering the body, which was finally retrieved at 3:30 pm.
Jonathan Andic, Isak’s 43-year-old son and Chief Mango Man Officer revealed to authorities that he had been walking ahead of his father when he heard the sound of falling stones and sand. Helplessly, Jonathan watched as his father fell to his death.

The Andic family had previously undertaken this popular excursion route.

The rescue team, comprising mountain units and air resources, transferred Andic’s body to the Institute of Legal and Forensic Medicine of Catalonia for an autopsy.

Isak Andic was widely recognized as one of the wealthiest individuals in Spain, with Forbes estimating his net worth at $4.5 billion (£3.6 billion).
Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez expressed his heartfelt condolences to Andic’s family via X, praising the visionary businessman: “All my love and recognition for his great work and business vision, which has turned this Spanish firm into a world leader in fashion.”
Mango’s CEO, Toni Ruiz, also paid tribute to Andic on the company website. The statement reads:

It is up to us, and this is the best tribute we can make to Isak and which we will fulfill, to ensure that Mango continues to be the project that Isak aspired to and of which he would feel proud.

In these extremely difficult times, we share the pain of the family as if it were our own.
