A 54-year-old Armando Carralero allegedly shot and killed his 44-year-old wife, Yuneisy Labrada Rodriguez, in a shopping center parking lot in Orlando, Florida, on Monday, October 21.
According to authorities, the shooting occurred around 1:15 p.m. at the corner of South Semoran Boulevard and Lake Underhill Road.
Emergency services received calls about a medical emergency, prompting a quick response from law enforcement.
Upon arrival, officers found Rodriguez suffering from gunshot wounds. Tragically, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Witnesses reported that Carralero had fled the area in a vehicle, but he was later apprehended and arrested in Indian River County.
Carralero faced a judge on Tuesday, October 22, and was denied bond. He has been charged with first-degree murder with a firearm and is scheduled for extradition to Orange County.
Eyewitness accounts described the scene, with officers arriving to find Carralero allegedly holding a gun to his wife’s head.
Fortunately, authorities could intervene, and Carralero was taken into custody without further incident.
The investigation is ongoing, with authorities confirming they are not seeking additional suspects. The motive behind the shooting remains unclear.
