A murder-suicide incident has occurred in North Carolina, where a 63-year-old husband, George Lesniak, fatally shot his wife, Cathleen Lesniak, 59, before taking his own life. The tragic events transpired on January 18, 2025, at their residence in Fuquay-Varina, approximately 18 miles southwest of Raleigh.
According to the Fuquay-Varina Police Department, officers responded to a call at the Lesniak residence around 6 p.m. and discovered the lifeless bodies of George and Cathleen. The police investigation revealed that George had shot his wife before turning the gun on himself, inflicting a self-inflicted fatal injury.
In a Facebook post, George Lesniak confessed to the murder, citing his wife’s alleged infidelity as the motive. The post, which has since been deleted, read: “My wife admitted to cheating on me so I killed, I’m about to kill myself.” This disturbing message was shared with the ADAS Support group, a private Facebook community comprised of technicians who perform ADAS calibrations on vehicles. George Lesniak was an administrator of the group.
The couple had been married for over 34 years, and their friends and family are struggling to come to terms with the events. Cathleen Lesniak worked as a Technical Production Manager at Advanced Auto Parts, while George was a former vice president at Autel Automotive Intelligence USA. He had left the company in September 2024 after working remotely for five and a half years.
Autel Automotive Intelligence expressed their condolences in a Facebook post, stating: “We are deeply saddened by the tragic events that occurred at the Lesniak residence on January 18. We at Autel express our heartfelt condolences to the Lesniak family and friends.”
The police investigation is ongoing, with officials urging the community to keep the family in their thoughts during this challenging time.
