Lagos Police Arrest Ex-convict Hours After Release From Prison

An ex-convict, Yakub Yusuf, 23, has been arrested hours after he was released from prison.

According to a statement by the Lagos State Police spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin on Thursday, men of the Rapid Response Squad arrested Yusuf on Saturday morning. He was released from prison custody on Friday, after a non-governmental organisation paid his fine upon conviction for stealing at the Lagos State fuel dump, Alausa, Ikeja on November 1, 2022.

On Saturday, Yusuf was arrested again after breaking into Lagos State Fire Service premises. This time, he stole valve covers of old fire truck under repairs.
