Actors Meagan Good and Jonathan Majors have taken their relationship to the next level, revealing their engagement at the EBONY Power 100 Gala in Los Angeles on November 17.
The couple shared the exciting news on the red carpet, with Good showcasing her stunning diamond ring.
In an interview with E! News’ Francesca Amiker, the couple disclosed that they chose the EBONY Power 100 Gala to share their engagement news due to its sentimental significance.
“EBONY Power 100 is the event that we met at in the bathrooms,” Good revealed, “in the unisex bathroom.” This chance encounter two years ago marked the beginning of their romance.
Good, 43, and Majors, 35, began dating in May 2023, amidst Majors’ highly publicized legal troubles.
Majors was arrested over an alleged domestic dispute with ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari and later found guilty of misdemeanor assault and harassment in December. He was sentenced to a 52-week in-person counseling program and a $250 fine in April.
Throughout his legal struggles, Good stood by Majors, supporting him during multiple court appearances in New York City.
In a March interview with E! News, Good affectionately referred to Majors as “the one.” She praised his style, saying, “I just love how he puts it together.”
When asked about her response to those with reservations about their relationship, Good emphasized her commitment to living her life on her own terms.
“I take everyone’s opinion and advice into account, for sure, but at the end of the day, I’m the one who has to live my life,” she stated on the July 9 episode of Today. “I’m the one who has to get to Heaven one day, prayerfully, and give God an account of what I did. So, I want to be responsible for the choices that I make.”
Good also shared her appreciation for the support and love they’ve shared. “The support we’ve been able to give to each other, the pouring into each other, the honest conversations, the love, the respect, just the care, and the thoughtfulness,” she said. “It’s been really wonderful.”
