The Nigerian Air Force, in a recent airstrike, on the Islamic State’s West Africa Province (ISWAP), neutralized approximately 50 terrorists, including high-ranking commander Bashir Dauda, in Marte Local Government.
This strike targeted known ISWAP strongholds in villages such as Tumbun Daribiyar, Jubularam, Buluwa, and Tumbu Karfe.
According to Air Commodore Olusola F Akinboyewa, Director of Public Relations and Information at the Nigerian Air Force Headquarters, the airstrike was a resounding success. “Approximately 50 terrorists, including a high-ranking ISWAP commander known as Bashir Dauda, were neutralized in the operation,” he stated.
The airstrike also destroyed an ISWAP supply depot in the Jubularam enclave, cutting off a critical resource line for the terrorists. The depot was stocked with essential items like beans, millet, and rice.
As Air Commodore Akinboyewa noted, “These successful air strikes, targeting personnel and logistics, underscore NAF’s ongoing commitment to supporting ground forces and enhancing joint efforts to decimate terrorist strongholds in the region.”
