NDLEA proposes mandatory drug test for students seeking admission into the university.

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) recently proposed mandatory drug tests for students who would be seeking admission into the university.

The commandant of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Kwara state, Hajia Fatima Abiola-Popoola, has proposed that universities should have a prerequisite where newly admitted undergo compulsory drug tests as part of their admission process into the university.

She explained that this would serve as a preventive measure while offering early intervention and counselling for those already using drugs to prevent them from becoming problematic users.

This announcement has since caused a series of backlash and differing opinions on the internet.
