Nigerian soldiers and bandits were involved in a fierce battle in Mai-Iddo village, Kachia Local Government Area of Kaduna State, resulting in the neutralization of three notorious bandits.
The operation, conducted by soldiers on a clearance mission, also led to the successful rescue of four abducted farmers, including a woman.
According to eyewitnesses, the bandits had previously abducted two farmers from Mai-Iddo village and two others, including a woman, from a nearby farm in Arikon village last week.
The victims were held captive in a bandits’ hideout located in a forest in Kurmin-Kare village.
During the raid, soldiers encountered the bandits, and an intense exchange of gunfire ensued.
This exchange led to the demise of three bandits.
“We were able to rescue the abducted farmers after a thorough operation,” a military source revealed. “The soldiers were on a clearance operation around neighboring villages in Kagarko LGA when they encountered the bandits.”
