The Kano State Police Command has arrested three suspected armed robbers and recovered sharp knives. According to SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, spokesperson for the command, the suspects were apprehended on January 15, 2025, at approximately 7:30 am, following a tip-off from a good Samaritan.
The suspects, identified as Aminu Muhammad, 28, Abubakar Aminu, 24, and Mujahid Muhammad, 23, were accused of blocking Magwan Road, attacking, and robbing innocent people of their mobile phones while riding a motorcycle. Upon searching the suspects, the police recovered three sharp knives and a mobile phone.
The arrests were made by a team of police detectives led by CSP Aliyu Muhammad Auwal. The suspects are currently undergoing investigation at the Command’s Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and will be charged to court upon completion of the investigation.
In a statement, CP Salman Dogo Garba, Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, emphasized that the command will not tolerate such criminal activities and will spare no effort in arresting and prosecuting anyone who tries to disrupt the peaceful atmosphere in the state.
