Renowned Cleric Sheikh Bashar Danfili Seeks Public Assistance After Bandits Kidnap Six Relatives
Sheikh Bashar Danfili, a respected cleric in Sokoto state, has made a heartfelt appeal to the general public for financial assistance after bandits kidnapped six of his relatives.
The victims, who were traveling to a village in the state, include a man, his mother, stepmother, two wives, and a sister.
“They were on their way to a village when they were attacked and kidnapped.
Their driver was killed on the spot and the bandits fed their dogs with his flesh.
But the rest are still in captivity, including a husband, his mother, stepmother, two wives, and his sister.
The bandits have demanded a huge amount of money, which runs into millions of Naira. We cannot raise it,” he said.
In a distressing video posted on social media, Danfili revealed that the bandits have demanded a substantial ransom, which his family cannot afford to pay.
He emphasized that the deadline for the payment is fast approaching and that the kidnappers have threatened to kill the hostages if their demands are not met.
Danfili, a scholar and teacher, expressed his helplessness in raising the funds, highlighting that his occupation is focused on educating people and that he has limited financial resources.
He emphasized that the safety of his relatives is his utmost concern and that he fears for their lives, especially in light of the recent killing of a traditional ruler in the state by his abductors.
