Donald Trump recently took a jab at Vice President Kamala Harris during his rally in Michigan on October 26. He claimed that Harris’ Houston rally, which featured Beyoncé and Kelly Rowland, ended in chaos when the crowd realized Beyoncé wouldn’t perform.
“Last night, my opponent had one of these, and they got Beyoncé. You know, Beyoncé. So Beyoncé went up and spoke for a couple of minutes and then left. The place went crazy and booed the hell out of everybody. They thought she was going to perform,” Trump said.
He also took a swipe at Harris, implying that she relies on celebrities to draw crowds, whereas he doesn’t need that. Trump added that Harris even arranged for buses to transport attendees, whereas he claims people show up to his rallies without needing incentives.
“We’re just gonna make America great again, very simple. I thought I’d tell you that story ’cause you’ll never hear it from the fake news,” Trump continued.
However, footage from Harris’ rally tells a different story. While some in the crowd did boo, Harris laughed it off and her supporters chanted her name louder. Harris remained focused, saying, “And we have a lot of work to do. We’re not gonna get distracted”.
Social media users were quick to call out Trump for spreading misinformation, with some attendees of Harris’ rally clarifying that the booing was actually aimed at a Trump supporter in the crowd. Others mocked Trump’s claims, suggesting he’s more interested in comedy than politics.
