Senate President Godswill Akpabio has revealed that the 10th National Assembly and President Bola Tinubu’s administration have agreed to revert to the old national anthem as part of efforts to rebuild Nigeria.
Speaking at the 2024 Annual General Conference of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) in Lagos State, Akpabio emphasized the importance of unity and brotherhood in creating a better future for the country.
He urged legal practitioners to be agents of positive change and support the creation of a robust legal framework that addresses the aspirations of all Nigerians.
Akpabio stressed that by embracing brotherhood and standing together, Nigerians can overcome any challenge and build a brighter future.
The old national anthem’s emphasis on unity and brotherhood – “though tribes and tongues may differ, in brotherhood we stand.”

Akpabio shared his personal dream of rebuilding Akwa Ibom State, which aligned with the shared aspirations of Nigerians.
He highlighted his achievements in transforming Akwa Ibom State and expressed his confidence in working with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to rebuild Nigeria.
Akpabio believed that igniting a spark of aspiration in individuals can mark a pivotal moment for Nigeria’s success.
He emphasized the significance of the Renewed Hope program in achieving this vision.
