Yusuf Olorungbede, a renowned actor in the Yoruba film industry, has sadly passed away.
He died on Tuesday, August 27, after a prolonged illness that required life support in his final days.
His colleagues in the Yoruba movie industry, including actress Foluke Daramola, announced his passing on social media. Foluke Daramola shared the news on her Instagram page, saying, “We lost Yusuf Olorungbede… We submit to God’s Will. Thank You Everyone!”
Olorungbede’s death has been met with an outpouring of tributes and condolences from his fans and fellow actors in the industry.
Oladimeji Peter, another actor, posted this on Facebook and said,
“It is Sad to hear you are gone.
As an Actor you gave me courage, you are the first director that will invite me to movie location and pay me, not just that alone, my feeding and personal accomodation was settled without stress, how will I write up my stories in this industry and slide your name EGBON????Ko possible through you I met alot and I learnt so much from you. Good night Boss man 😓 Yusuf Olorungbede 🎩🎩🎩”
