Wike Fires Back at Critics, Dares PDP Governors to Accuse Him of Being a Mole

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has unleashed a scathing response to his critics within the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), challenging anyone to publicly label him a mole.
During an appearance on Channels Television’s “Politics Today,” Wike dared governors, National Working Committee members, or any PDP leader to come forward and accuse him of being a mole.
“I wrote letters to the PDP in my zone and nationally. Who in the PDP is saying I’m a mole? Name names.”
Wike reaffirmed his commitment to his principles, stating, “What I want to do, I will do. What I don’t want to do, I won’t do.”
He referenced his 2023 decision not to support the PDP presidential candidate, citing concerns over equity and fairness.
Wike highlighted his leadership prowess, pointing out that the PDP won governorship, National Assembly, and State Assembly seats in Rivers State with a landslide victory.
“I challenge any of them in PDP states to show 100% wins. How did we achieve this? Leadership!”
Wike revealed that Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki approached him to support his preferred successor, Dr. Asue Ighodalo. However, Wike declined, citing past experiences where his support for Obaseki yielded only insults.
Regarding allegations surrounding the Edo State Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Wike acknowledged their familial ties but emphasized his cousin’s independence.
“Nobody can intimidate my cousin, not even the INEC Chairman. Nobody born of a woman can intimidate my cousin into doing what is not right.”
Wike wondered why the Edo REC’s posting, which occurred over a year ago, has become an issue now.
He criticized Governor Similaye Fubara’s decision to dismantle the political family that brought him to power, deeming it an unforgivable offense.
