Wildfire Engulfs Los Angeles Neighborhood, Tens of Thousands to Flee

A devastating wildfire, known as the Palisades Fire, erupted in the Pacific Palisades area of Los Angeles on Tuesday, forcing tens of thousands of residents to flee their homes.
The blaze rapidly spread from a small brush fire in the morning to nearly 3,000 acres by evening, fueled by powerful Santa Ana winds and dry conditions.
 Residents were seen fleeing the area on foot, desperate to escape the rapidly spreading fire.
One resident, who escaped the area, described the scene to NBC Los Angeles as “apocalyptic.”

Los Angeles Fire Chief Kristin M. Crowley warned that more than 10,000 homes were under threat, with roughly 30,000 residents under evacuation orders. The fire department deployed extensive resources to combat the blaze, including firefighters, aircraft, and equipment.
