Residents of Tokulo community in Bwari Area Council, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) discovered 12 bodies suspected to be those of bandits.
According to Jerry Alkali, councillor representing Igu Ward, the bodies were still at the scene on Tuesday morning, October 15, 2024.
Alkali recounted how residents contacted him between 2 and 3 am on Monday, expressing fear due to repeated gunfire sounds.
“Residents called me between 2 and 3 am, lamenting about the terrifying sounds of gunshots. No one could sleep due to the tension. Later, when some residents headed to their farms, they spotted corpses outside the village along the road leading to Pmape community in Kagarko LGA of Kaduna State,” Alkali said.
An anonymous resident revealed that none of the victims were from the community, suggesting that the deceased were likely engaged or brought in and neutralized by security personnel.
“None of the victims are from our community, indicating they were either engaged or brought in and neutralized by security men,” the resident stated.
Tokulo, the hometown of the serving chairman of the Bwari Area Council, has experienced a series of bandit attacks, resulting in the killing of locals and security personnel.
An official from the FCT Special Anti-kidnapping Unit confirmed the incident but declined further comment on the circumstances surrounding the discovery.
