The Katsina State Police Command has apprehended Nasiru Sanusi, a 25-year-old man, for his involvement in the kidnapping and murder of his uncle, a ward head in Kankara Local Government Area.
Police Spokesman Abubakar Sadiq paraded Sanusi alongside other suspects at the police headquarters on October 30, 2024. According to Sadiq, Sanusi conspired with three accomplices to kidnap his uncle and subsequently murdered him despite receiving N8 million and six bags of fertilizer as ransom.
Sadiq stated, “On October 23, 2024, the command, in collaboration with the Gombe State Police Command, arrested Nasiru Sanusi… in connection with a suspected case of criminal conspiracy, kidnapping, and culpable homicide.”
The PPRO further revealed that Sanusi confessed to fleeing to Lagos, Taraba, and Gombe states, engaging in various criminal activities before his arrest in Gombe.
During the investigation, Sanusi admitted to committing the crime. The police are intensifying efforts to apprehend the remaining suspects as the investigation continues.
Sadiq emphasized, “The suspect confessed to the commission of the offense… Efforts are being intensified to ensure the arrest of the fleeing suspects as the investigation proceeds.”
