Cardi B has set the record straight, denying rumors that she received payment for endorsing Kamala Harris at the vice president’s rally in Wisconsin.
The rapper took to her X handle to address the speculation, stating, “I did not get paid a dollar for this… I actually been talking about these topics for the past couple years for free on my platforms!!”
Cardi B emphasized her personal connection to the issues, sharing, “Before I was a celebrity, I was a product of poverty for 24 years, so you’re not gonna tell me what I want to see in my community.”
At the Milwaukee rally, Cardi B formally endorsed Harris, the Democratic Party’s presidential candidate, ahead of this month’s election.
She has joined other prominent artists like Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, and Usher in endorsing Vice President Harris.
