Rory Mcllroy and Patrick Reed are not on speaking terms for now as Rory Mcllroy refused to shake Patrick’s hand at a golf match between the two.
Rory Mcllroy responded to the brief golf course issue at a press briefing
“I didn’t see it, I was down by my bag and he came up to me and I was busy working and sort of doing my practice and I didn’t really feel the need to acknowledge him so I didn’t see him coming my direction at all but apparently that is what happened and if the roles were reversed and I had to throw that tear at him I’d be expecting a law suit. I mean I got a subpoena on Christmas Eve, like I mean like you can’t pretend like nothing’s happening right? I think that is the thing like why, you know we are leaving in reality here and he is not.”
Patrick Reed said in an interview on Golf digest
“I walked over there and wished Harry (Mcllroy’s caddie) happy new year and then Rory, because it is the first time I have seen him. Harry shook my hand and Rory just looked down. Since my tees are Team Aces LIV tees I flicked him one. It was kind of a funny shot back. Funny how a small little flick has turned into basically me stabbing him and throwing a tee at him.”
“If you are going to act like an immature little child then you might as well be treated like one.”
