9 Killed, 21 Injured in Katsina Auto-Crash

An auto-crash has claimed the lives of nine people and left 21 others injured in Dankama, Kaita Local Government Area of Katsina State.
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) confirmed the incident when a trailer carrying cows and humans on top separated from the main body and fell on a pavement.
According to the Sector Commander, Aliyu Ma’aji, the trailer driver was attempting to prevent crushing a woman who had fallen from the top of a Golf car overloaded with beans.
However, in trying to avoid the woman, the driver lost control of the vehicle, causing the trailer to separate from the main body.
Ma’aji revealed that the tragic incident resulted in nine fatalities and 21 injuries.
The injured passengers were rushed to the Primary Healthcare Center in Kaita for medical attention, with some victims referred to Katsina General Hospital and the Federal Teaching Hospital, Katsina, due to the severity of their injuries.
The Sector Commander took the opportunity to warn drivers against carrying animals with passengers.
He also urged passengers to speak out against overloading and reckless driving.
