It is no news that Twitter is having a lot of ‘restructuring’ at the moment under Elon Musk who has been head of Twitter for 2 weeks now which has many users of the plat form worrying about the slow but scattered pace the micro- logging site is heading to.
There is a not so new contender in the block that goes by the name Mastodon whose name is taken from the pre-historic mammal that existed thousands of years ago. The app has seen a steady growth over the past months which have some believing that some Twitter users are leaving the platform to join Mastodon.
This app is not owned by a singular entity but rather a network of different organizations with thier own individual servers, few worry that this structure is not moderated. The app has been around for 6 years and have few thousands of users which frails in comparison with Twitter’s 300 million users but they are slowly catching up.
