Youth advocate for good governance, Andrew Enantomhen on Thursday called on the candidate of the APC in the forthcoming Edo State Governorship election, Senator Monday Okpebholo to resign from the Governorship race with immediate effect.
This is coming after it was discovered that the APC candidate is not a registered voter in Edo State.
Based on the landmark discovery by SaharaReporters which has now led to the hashtag #VoterNotFound, Andrew Enantomhen opined that the APC candidate resigns with immediate effect to go and sort out his voter registration issue first and foremost.
Commenting further, Andrew Enantomhen said the APC already shot itself in the foot by registering someone who is not a registered voter in Edo State, to be its candidate for the Edo State governorship election.
“As it stands, the APC will not be able to challenge the election in court if and surely when they lose the election. This is because, to challenge an election outcome, you must have voted in the same election too. In this instance, the APC candidate by virtue of the information on the INEC website will not be voting in the forthcoming Edo State Governorship election since he is not a registered voter in Edo State ahead of the September Governorship election,” Andrew Enantomhen said.
