The former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello has been ordered by the Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja to present himself for arraignment.
The court gave the verdict on Tuesday while also restraining the ex-governor from taking further action until he is arraigned.
Recall that the former governor is wanted by EFCC for 84 billion naira fraud and has been evading the arrest by the EFCC to answer questions on corruption allegations leveled against him by the anti-graft agency.
The Court of Appeal has ordered former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello to appear in court to face fraud charges.
Yahaya Bello has been evading arrest and refusing to appear in court, attempting to have the case moved to Lokoja, Kogi State, for trial or stalled.
Bello will now have to appear in court to answer to the fraud accusations pertaining to his acts as governor from 2015 to 2023, as the Court of Appeal’s decision blocks his attempts to postpone or reschedule the trial.
In saying that the EFCC is an organisation that upholds the law and would never act against it, Justice Nwite made known that the former governor has agreed to submit to a trial in court.
